I am an amateur historian doing a study on the German u-boat actions in the Black Sea during World War II.
I have almost completed the German side of the study. Now, I would like to collect information from the Russian side. Because my study depends on oral hitory, I would like to find the surviving Russian sailors, who served in the Soviet Black Sea Fleet during World War II, in order to make my interviews.
However, I am not familiar to make research in Russia and I need your help to locate these people. I am looking for the below given people:
1) The surviving veterans of the Soviet Black Sea Fleet during World War II. Crew members of the “Parizhskaya Kommuna (Sevastopol)”, “Krasnyi Kavkaz”, “Kraznyi Krim”, “Kharkov” or any of the submarines will be helpful. Moreover, Soviet gunboat crews are very much important.
2) The pilots of the Soviet Navy, who served in the Black Sea area during the war. They had a great effect on the u-boat actions.
You can help in guiding me to track these people. A historian who was specialzed on the World War II Soviet Black Sea Fleet may be helpful.
Any help you may provide will be greatly appreciated.
