Давно известно, что амерского офицера-подводника изначально (еще со времен Риковера) "затачивают на механика"..."смотрящим на реактор".
Поэтому их офицеры получали (до определенного времени) "командирскую заточку-переподготовку" в подводном флоте Великобритании, где из механиков в командиры редко кто попадает.
И на кого "равняться будем"?
Что касается "пиджаков", так и в ВМФ СССР таковые имелись. Знал лично одного такого командира дивизии рпл, выпускника, кажется, Лесотехнической академии. Очень достойный адмирал.
